Savor Piedmont
Refined Hospitality | Storied Labels
This is Piedmont as it was meant to be experienced, through its wines, its cuisine, and the landscapes that give them life. Birthplace of Barolo and Barbaresco, Piedmont holds a quiet sophistication born of centuries devoted to the art of winemaking. Vines stretch in every direction, giving the hilltop towns and valleys a richness comparable to Burgundy and Bordeaux, while remaining distinctly Italian. In Piedmont, wine is held sacred, and each encounter with it is guided by reverence.
Nestled against the Alps and bordering France and Switzerland, Piedmont has long been a crossroads of cultures.
Its cuisine, architecture, and worldview have been shaped by the region’s history of exchange with Northern Europe. Hospitality here feels intimate and sincere; many wineries host only a few guests at a time, choosing depth of connection over display. As the seasons change, so does the very essence of Piedmont. Menus follow the harvest, wine tastings featuring new vintage releases are unveiled in harmony with the turning year, and the landscape transforms in tone and texture. Each detail honors nature’s rhythm. Over six nights, you’ll experience these seasonal nuances firsthand—an exploration of place, palate, and culture that reveals the proud heart of Piedmont.

Today is devoted to the rich culinary traditions that define this corner of northern Italy. The morning begins with a short 10-minute walk to Conterno Fantino, where generations of dedication come to life in every pour. Named for the two families that joined forces in 1982, the winery is celebrated for its Barolo, the region’s defining wine. You'll taste elegant, expressive pours while hearing the stories of those who shaped them.
In the afternoon, you’ll be welcomed by the Bovio family for an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at their winemaking craft. Your visit includes a tasting at the very table where the family has gathered, shared meals, and raised glasses for generations. It’s a chance to experience their heritage in the most personal and authentic way.
As the sun begins to set across the Langhe hills, the focus turns to one of Piedmont’s most celebrated products: cheese. You’ll step into the hidden cheese cave of Giolito, lined with wheels in every stage of aging, guided by artisans who reveal how patience and precision create such remarkable depth of flavor. What you’ve learned comes full circle at the table, with a tasting of cheeses crafted from the milk of sheep and goats raised in the surrounding hills.
The day concludes with dinner at Belsit in Langa, a distinguished spot where the simple perfection of seasonal ingredients is served against a breathtaking panoramic backdrop, offering a feast for both the palate and the eyes.

As the day draws to a close, retreat home to the serene embrace of Tenuta Bussia for a quiet evening in, where you’ll roll up your sleeves for an interactive cooking class. Aromas of fresh herbs, simmering sauces, and rustic breads mingle with the soft clink of glasses, as wines from the surrounding vineyards are poured to accompany each course. Together, you’ll prepare and share a meal that celebrates the season’s bounty, savoring the flavors and the moment in a relaxed setting that embodies the understated elegance of a true Piedmontese night at home.

On this final day in Piedmont, you’ll begin with a short walk from your hotel to Prunotto for a private tasting of distinguished single-vineyard wines. Each glass tells a story of the land and the hands that tended it. Following this, enjoy a thoughtfully curated lunch, paired with additional selections from the cellar. Later, take a moment to rest before we gather for a farewell dinner at Gennaro di Pace in the charming local town of Perno. The evening will celebrate the region’s finest vintage cru wines, perfectly aged and ready to usher you into a fitting conclusion to an extraordinary journey.

“Piedmont has been at the top of my travel list for as long as I can remember, but experiencing it with Savor & Cellar was beyond anything I could have imagined. The one-on-one time with winemakers, the unforgettable meals, and the comfort of the accommodations made every day feel exceptional. What impressed me most was how seamlessly everything came together — all we had to do was show up and enjoy. It was our first trip with Savor & Cellar, and we’ve already booked our next.”
